The Personal Engagement Institute was launched to teach, advocate, research and build a worldwide movement focused on everyone, everywhere making conscious, deliberate choices all of the time. For more than 35 years we’ve been learning through projects and research, and now we’re ready to share!

• Aligning the things you do with what you value, everyday in every way possible, is the only path to authentic engagement.
• Your own personal power is the primary catalyst for meaningful and lasting social evolution.
• Small, consistent internal shifts inside of each of us eventually lead to massive external impacts over time.
• Real change can come when we see ourselves more clearly, allowing us to see the world around us more clearly, too; when we change ourselves, we can actually change the world.
• In any given situation, true power is found in consciously, deliberately, and intentionally choosing how to respond.
• Learning to listen to our self is the (just) the first step to engaging deeply with others; we have to move beyond that for actual engagement.
• A single, intentional shift in personal perspective can lead to meaningful life changes.
• The quality of our own engagement determines the quality of our entire life.
• Empowering yourself is the most effective way to empower the community around you.

The Personal Engagement Institute operates from the belief that human beings are inherently good, and we want to do good things. Our experience and research shows that by learning to see what we choose over and over, everyone can see themselves more clearly. By adjusting our decision-making to reflect our actual goodness rather than operating on socially-determined autopilot, we can change ourselves and reflect our innate goodness. As more people become conscious decision-makers throughout their lives, we can change the world through the innate goodness of humankind.
